Autograph Plant - Clusia Rosea Princess
Autograph Plant has stiff, dark green or olive colored leathery leaves that grow to about 8 inches long. These leaves are tough enough that they can be carved into, hence the common name Autograph Plant. One can engrave or inscribe a message or signature with a sharp object or an empty ball point pen refill on the leaf surface and the impressions remain as long as the leaves are appended to the plant as the large, stiff, thick dark green waxy leaves are unique with a special feature - the inscribed areas become white and more prominent the next day as if painted white! It also blooms pink or white flowers in long flower heads during the summer and small green fruits that ripen to black and eventually split open to reveal bright red seeds.
